How to Have a Successful Vacation

I’m back at it today after enjoying some time off.  I went to a place I’ve never been - Montana!  We spent most of our time exploring Glacier National Park.  I highly recommend visiting if you ever get the chance!

I truly disconnected and left work behind (as much as I possibly could).  As I dug through all the email this morning I was reminded once again about 2 of my personal rules for life.

  1.  NO social media on vacation.  Full stop.

  2. Never underestimate the power of a change of scenery.

Rule #1 is SO important for a mental escape.  One thing I routinely discover when I do check back in on social media - I didn’t miss much!

As to Rule #2, I have a restless nature so I have to change things up to keep my mind focused.  It was 103 degrees the day before I left for my trip and the mountains near me are small.  Going to a place with big mountains, big waterfalls and sparkling glacial waters freed my mind of worry, doubt and fear (at least for a little while).  Have I had any big ideas?  Not yet, but I have a feeling they’re coming.

I’m sharing a few of the many beautiful pictures I took.
